    Location:

    Hybrid- this role involves frequent onsite travel, within a roughly 50-mile radius of Newington, NH (must live locally). Occasionally, travel to other locations across the country may also be required. Otherwise, the individual in this position has the option to work remotely or at the Daystar office when not onsite.

    Position Summary:

    The Project Engineer will act as a primarily onsite based resource, responsible for the implementation of technology projects for Daystar clients, which includes the preparation and installation of both new hardware and software. This role involves reviewing design plans, creating project plans, execution, documentation, and configurations. The Project Engineer works in alignment with these plans to fulfill all aspects of a project, while maintaining communication with their team including Proactive Operations Specialists to ensure all timelines are met. The individual in this role must possess a “do‐what‐it‐takes” attitude, demonstrating proactivity, time-management, adaptability, and efficiency in resolving issues that may arise throughout a project.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Plan and execute complex server, network, and security projects.
    • Create project plans per previously designed and approved Sales Orders to accurately breakdown project action items, required resources, time investments, client impact and notes for coordination.
    • Participate in kick-off communication and meetings with the Proactive Operations Specialist and client to review project plans, answer technical questions and concerns.
    • Efficiently communicate with projects stakeholders throughout the entire timeline of a project, to raise red flags, provide status updates and ensure that the team is meeting expectations.
    • Track daily work through time and notes entries, meticulously recording billable utilization via the timesheet system. Use this data to provide weekly project health metrics.
    • Manage documentation and configuration updates per project, ensuring that Network diagrams, VLAN and Switch, VM Provisioning and Daystar toolsets are up to date.
    • Participate in project After-Action Review meetings to discuss feedback from client project surveys and internal lesson learned.
    • Take part in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of all department best practices, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
    • Provide training on new products with a specific focus on outcomes and how they will enhance the company.
    • Act as subject matter expert and support internal teams, such as Help Desk, Centralized Services and Technical Alignment with escalated matters.

    Examples of Project Work:

    • Build or improve physical and virtual servers for optimal performance and security.
    • Set-up or upgrade network devices such as switches, access points, and firewalls to ensure reliable and safe connectivity.
    • Implement Microsoft Office 365 solutions such as email migrations, OneDrive/SharePoint usage, Teams collaboration, multi-factor authentication, password reset self-server and more.

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with software, OS, and hardware.
    • End user desktop (Windows 10 and 11) and server (Windows Server OS 2012 - 2022) support.
    • Dell Laptop/Desktop experience.
    • Microsoft 365 stack and Entra ID experience required.
    • A or Network Certification desirable.
    • VMware ESXi experience desirable.
    • ITGlue and ConnectWise Manage and SmartSheets experience desirable.
    • Strong documentation skills and ability to follow established processes and procedures to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of technical solutions, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Ability to multitask, operate under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and be able to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
    • Maintains a high level of integrity including the ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information.
    • Work collaboratively and efficiently as a team member to meet or exceed team goals.
    • Possess a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow with the role.
