ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for coordinating one of our multi week programs (Funatics, Mountain Xplorers, School Groups, Kinder Kamp/Group lessons. Including but not limited to: teaching lessons within their program, pre-season planning, implementation of program, season wrap up, Co-teach with new coaches as needed, manage paperwork, communicate with parents/group leaders and other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will complete paperwork for up to 2 hours per day; will stand/walk/ski/ride for up to 7.5 hours per day. Breaks and lunch available between lessons scheduled. Will lift up to 35 lbs. frequently; up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Lifts may be done to pick up fallen skiers/boarders, mainly providing support to help skiers/boarders from a fall. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on an occasional to frequent basis. Will use hands for grasping, pulling up skiers/boarders and fine manipulation. Sensory skills of speech, vision, touch and hearing needed. Worksite is 70% outside and 30% inside. Exposed to all temperatures and moisture conditions. Hazards are snow/ice and ski/board injury. Avalanche is also a possible hazard. Wears company provided uniform. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer’s facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Moderate computer literacy, strong interpersonal communication skills, leadership abilities, organization of personal workload, capable of most terrain at Schweitzer. Prefer multi-discipline teaching ability. EDUCATION: Instructor certification in skiing or snowboarding preferred. EXPERIENCE: Level 1 PSIA / AASI certification and 1 to 5 years teaching minimum preferred. LICENSE NEEDED: none MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Ski/Snowboard equipment, computers and office equipment, two-way radios JUDGEMENT / MENTAL COMPLEXITY: High BENEFITS: See employee handbook REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once a season.
