Role Summary
Manager, Charging System Engineering and Integration reports to the Sr. Director HW, FW and System Engineering at Electrify America and is responsible for the development and engineering of Charging Systems for Electrify America, - Canada-, Home or –Commercial. This includes all developments from the industry leading high power charging stations, to contract manufactured home charging stations. This role will have to work closely with the HW, FW and SW Engineering team as well as Product and Program management ensure the correct integration into the Electrify System. Strong expertise of hardware and software demands of the EV industry is critical.Needs to be comfortable managing several teams of technical experts in a high-pressure environment. Several Expert managers and system Engineering roles will be reporting into this function.
Role Responsibilities
Main responsibility – System Engineering and Development (70%)
- Lead the system Engineering for Electrify’s charging solution. This includes System Architecture, Functional Safety, Interfaces and the coordination with the HW and FW/SW solutions.
- Development of technical system requirements in alignment with the product roadmap
- Managing of all Technology/Developmental tasks for the Vendors of Charging systems through the complete product life cycle (concept, product development, test/Validation phase, Signoff and Series quality measures)
- Responsible for EA’s Charger Roadmap to secure the company’s technical leadership
- Responsibility for System integration of HW and Components into a charging system and of the charging system into the over Electrify charging Ecosystem.
Additional responsibilities – Internal Knowledge buildup (20%)
- Identification of key elements of the charging system for knowledge buildup
- Buildup of an Org structure that supports the hiring and onboarding of experts in the identified fields
- Development of IP in the identified topics for the use in EA’s charging solutions
Additional responsibilities – Alignment with Business/Product development and Strategy (10%)
- Represents Charging systems Engineering and Technology internally and externally to all business partners.
- Provides technical perspective for critical partnerships with master site holders, vendors, etc.
- Fully responsible for overall charging system Development and budget.
- Report to Sr Director HW/FW and System Engineering and the Executive Management.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Other bachelor’s degree with strong, proven technical expertise
