Instructor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Every year Community College of Vermont employs nearly 500 part-time faculty to teach its courses at 12 locations statewide and online, and we are always looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable teachers. All faculty work part-time with a maximum of three courses each semester.

Course Description:
This course introduces students to problems of external reporting as they relate to service providers, merchandisers, and corporations. Students examine the various accounts found in financial statements and learn how to put these accounts together to render meaningful statements that communicate pertinent information to those who read them. Basic math skills are required. Students have the opportunity to take the Bookkeeping Certification from the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) in this course.
