Information Technology Supervisor supervises the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Implements internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Supervisor analyzes business needs and recommends IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and coordinates and schedules IT initiatives. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor monitors information systems to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems and data and develops backup strategies and recovery plans. Collaborates with business groups to help utilize information systems to improve operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. PLEASE NOTE: This position is NOT C2C/ 3rd Party eligible. It is direct hire and hybrid in the Fort Worth, TX area.
This position will be responsible for managing a dedicated network with its own domain and related infrastructure to deliver virtual servers, virtual desktops, containers, and applications to researchers and external collaborators. This will include an on-premise Nutanix cluster, as well as cloud services on Azure, AWS, and GCP.
This manager will also manage a small team that is responsible for SQL Server administration and system administration for research and business intelligence applications. Examples of applications supported by this team include: Power BI, GoAnywhere MFT, SAS, ArcGIS, REDCap, Qualtrics, Tableau, and Amplitude Analytics.
Currently, the team consists of three DBAs and two BI Administrators. It is expected that the manager will hire additional staff (system/platform engineers) to support the dedicated research network as it is built out, since it is a new expansion of our research program.
