INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST performs overall information systems planning, implementation, and administration in a variety of IT functional areas. Collaborates with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST analyzes business needs and contributes to the selection of IT hardware and software to support internal business processes. Maintains detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and assists with the planning and scheduling of IT initiatives. Additionally, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GENERALIST installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems, networks, and data and ensures backup strategies and recovery plans are up to date. Requires a bachelor's degree. Position Overview
The Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing the information technology strategy and operations within our company. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure, systems, and teams, particularly with the Blue Cherry ERP system. The successful candidate will ensure that our IT initiatives align with our business objectives and drive efficiency, innovation, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals and objectives.
- Oversee the management and optimization of the Blue Cherry ERP system, ensuring it supports business operations effectively and efficiently.
- Lead and manage the IT department, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing IT staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address their technology needs and ensure seamless integration of IT solutions.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors as needed.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving issues promptly and effectively. Ensure IT service desk operations are efficient and responsive.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures, policies, and protocols to protect against cybersecurity threats. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure IT systems and services can be restored in the event of an outage or disaster.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Lead the selection, implementation, and integration of new technologies.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for IT staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role within the consumer goods industry.
- Extensive experience with Blue Cherry ERP system, including implementation, customization, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems administration.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing IT budgets.
