Our client is principally an independent petroleum refiner that produces high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, specialty lubricant products and specialty modified asphalt. Our client owns and operates refineries located in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah and markets its refined products principally in the Southwest U.S., the Rocky Mountains extending into the Pacific Northwest and in other neighboring Plains states. In addition, our client produces base oils and other specialized lubricants in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands, and exports products to more than 80 countries.

BASIC FUNCTION:
This position will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) technical support at the local operational level. Resolves advanced to complex technical issues to the Company's IT equipment and conducts technical assignments and projects for the IT Department. This position will address, and support issues related to the local operational IT systems, servers, network, printers and client support. Implements hardware and software upgrades at the local operational level.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
Provides Tier 3 IT support and after-hours support
Provides complex desktop, telecom, application, and infrastructure support
Manages medium to large projects on a local operational level
Provides support for local operational application support (troubleshooting, testing and upgrades)
Provides on-site network monitoring and support.
Supports all aspects of the network
Analyses and resolves technical problems for established networks
Serves as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies
Provides troubleshooting and resolving network production problems
Installs, configures, maintains and documents network components
Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference
Executes established methodology for gathering security requirements for active directory account provisioning
Resolves complex issues regarding operations, installations, on-line transactions, system status and downtime
Provides preventative maintenance, including server monitoring, applying and testing patches, and checking for space limitations
Provides server administration duties including configuration and maintenance
Resolves issues and updates patches and maintains local server infrastructure
Monitors and troubleshoots virtualized Windows / Linux virtualized server infrastructure. Gathers business and security requirements for server provisioning, adhering to architectural and security standards. Provides hardware support and monitoring for datacenter environments.
Recommends add-on technologies and customizations to Company software systems to provide efficiencies to business operations
Documents activities such as down time, problems, and system configurations
Writes clear, concise, and accurate documentation and provides training (i.e., work procedures, how to guides)
Protects all Infrastructure systems from unauthorized access (i.e., MPLS, WAN, Wireless, PBX)
Coordinates with SCADA and Process Control admins to advise best practices and coordinate architectural changes with Security, Network and Server engineering
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of Nine years of job-related experience is required.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of applications systems and ability to apply this knowledge. Expert level understanding of company operating systems platforms; advanced working knowledge of information systems concepts/design/development, systems development life cycle, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning; decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Conceptual and data analysis skills, advanced reading skills, the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, intermediate reading and writing skills, and excellent interpersonal
skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Ability to lead others and projects.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Certifications: Microsoft and Cisco certifications with an emphasis on desktop, network, and server support are preferred:
Certifications in NET , A , N , MCSA, CCNA, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CCIE, MCP Cisco and MCSE.
Additional support experience using Powershell and vbscript, TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, DNS and anti-virus is a preferred. ITIL Foundation.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Office based with up to 30% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery and driver-based environment including but not limited to chemical, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to risk of electrical shock. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability.
