    In 2023, UL Solutions launched Oracle HR as our new human capital management system. This brought together a consolidated suite of HR modules, moving the organization from 20 bespoke solutions onto one platform. Now that the baseline solution is live, work is underway to continue to maximize the system to drive ROI and an elevated experience for all users, while using this data to drive smart decision making.

    Reporting to the VP HR, Global People Services, the organization has created the new role of Global HRIS Director to manage the HRIS and Reporting & Analytics functions overseeing the implementation, management, and optimization of technology solutions that support the global human resources function including data that is then utilized for all HR-related reporting and analytics. The role will be based in either our Northbrook or downtown Chicago office.

    Responsibilities

    The Global HRIS and Analytics Director is responsible for leading the selection, implementation, and maintenance of the Human Resources Information System that supports the organization's HR, payroll, and related processes as well as HR Reporting and Analytics. The role involves strategic planning, project management, systems analysis, and stakeholder communication to enhance HR operational efficiency, data integrity and the reporting and analytics that drive meaningful insights.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the HR technology strategy in alignment with the organization's goals, ensuring scalable solutions for future growth.
    • System Management: Oversee the administration of the HRIS, including system configuration, data integrity, and security compliance. Ensure the system meets all necessary standards and regulations.
    • Project Management: Lead HRIS projects, from system selection and implementation to upgrades and integrations, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Reporting and Analytics: Relentless focus on data integrity to drive accurate reporting, ability to deliver current state reporting and the know-how, consultative approach to move organization to predictive analytics.
    • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with HRIS vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that service levels meet organizational needs.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and oversee the generation of reports and analytics to support decision-making processes, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
    • Training and Support: Leverage the UL Solutions University team on the training of HR staff and end-users on HRIS functionalities. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting.
    • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives, in partnership with the change management function, related to HRIS processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
    • Collaboration: Role model UL Solutions Ways of Working in partnering with HR leadership and other departments to identify system improvements and enhancements to support organizational objectives.

    Qualifications

    • Four-year university degree (equivalent to bachelor’s degree) in Information Systems, or a related discipline plus 8 years of experience
    • Significant experience in HRIS management, preferably with Oracle HR.
    • Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including payroll, benefits administration, talent acquisition and performance management.
    • Experience leading or partnering with reporting and analytics teams. Track record of producing accurate data, reports on a timely manner and more cutting-edge predictive analytics and insights.
    • Experience working with large, global, publicly traded companies.
    • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale HRIS implementations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and senior management.
    • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to HR and data protection.
    • Hands-on leadership style, able to set a vision and direction for the HRIS function, while ensuring team is performing quality work and delivering a customer-centric service to all stakeholders.
    • Comfortable with a hybrid work arrangement – at least three days per week in the office with flexibility to work from home the other days.
