Role Description: The Deputy Payments Lead is responsible for the day-to-day of the Payments Specialist team and having oversight into the operational side of our Payments Program.
In This Role You Will
- Recruit, hire, train, manage performance, schedule employees, monitor staffing levels, and ensure that employees follow the standards and procedures of the bank
- Coordinate and prepare for the periodic audits and risk assessments for the department and work with parties to ensure findings are addressed and recommendations are considered and implemented where necessary
- Assist in budget preparations, strategic planning, OKR development, enterprise risk assessment and system access reviews.
- Develop, update, and implement department-wide programs, policies and procedures
- Cross collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure the success and safety of the Payments Program, Lead Bank and our clients/partners
- Continue to develop and refine client onboarding and periodic reviews
- Assist in building and the enhancement of our internal Payments Platform to ensure operational functionality as well as compliance with payment related rules and regulations
- Work closely with the Engineering and Product teams to implement new technology or payment rails
- Preparation and presentation of high level payment related reports to the Management Risk and Compliance Committee
- Provide updates at monthly department meetings sharing important and relevant information with the team
- Work closely with clients/partners to understand their use case and support their needs
- Provide support to internal and external parties when called upon
- Escalate issues to management as well as bank core processor when required and follow through on resolution
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years bank operations and payments experience
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP), and / or National Check Professional (NCP) is preferred
- Understanding of Fiserv core-related products is preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong judgment, instincts and detail oriented
- Willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong organizational skills with experience in managing multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
