Summary
This position manages the daily affairs and overall program operation 66 West Apartments, Cedarview Apartments, and the Rapid Re-Housing Young Parent Program. These programs partner young adults and with young to improve the quality of individual lives, strengthen family functioning, and achieve independence through securing stable housing. The goals of the program are to partner with young people and families to locate and retain stable housing, increase economic resources, and simultaneously address the needs of parents and children to improve outcomes for the whole family.
This position is responsible for ensuring quality programming and effective partnerships with participants, both young adults and families. This position is also responsible for maintaining adequate occupancy
and ensuring that programs comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Hours for this position are Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
Provide effective leadership of assigned Family Housing programs:
- Responsible for overseeing quality assurance of assigned programs.
- Work in partnership with the Early Childhood Program and Children and Youth Service manager to ensure effective partnership between team members and families.
- Responsible for coordinating quarterly review meetings with participants and ensuring exit planning is properly implemented.
- Ensure participants are receiving consistent, high-quality support toward their goals by regularly reviewing case notes and promptly following up with staff.
- Shadow a home visit with each staff person at least once per quarter and provide feedback to promote continuous development.
- Develop procedures and program guidelines in consultation with Family Housing Programs Director.
Develop, Supervise and Train Staff:
- Be knowledgeable with SHS personnel practices and effectively apply policies with all direct reports.
- Hire and train staff in consultation with the Family and Youth Program Director and Director of Equity and Human Resources.
- Provide staff training, team building and development of individual staff goals.
- Provide guidance and supervision to direct reports, including conducting 30-day check-ins, 90 day reviews and annual performance evaluations thereafter.
- Effectively delegate assignments and projects to staff.
- Serve as member of the Leadership team with responsibility for policy and procedure implementation and design, budget monitoring, human resources functions and addressing challenges involving participant families, partners and processes.
Develop thorough and accurate budgets and monitor program expenditures:
- Develop and manage program budgets, including corrective action plans when needed in
- collaboration with Family Housing Programs Director, with final approval from the Associate Director.Maintain accurate records, including employee timesheets, travel expenses and billing
- Approve payment of direct assistance such as participant application fees, deposits, and rent.
Develop thorough and accurate reports, maintain complete and consistent records:
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and confidentiality of participant records.
- Assure accurate information is maintained in databases, including Client Track and the Homeless Management Information System.
- Hold regular monthly “data days” and ensure timely updates when gaps in data are identified
- Partner with the Operations Support team to ensure timely and accurate direct assistance payments, client documents, and reports for programs.
Provide positive representation of SHS through public relations and networking:
- Interpret the program to constituents regarding SHS and its programs.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all partners.
- Assist with fund development as directed.
- Participate in staff and community meetings.

- Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops hosted by SHS about diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, and other related topics.

- Possess computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and demonstrate ability to learn additional computer skills/program as necessary.
Scope of Position
Job Requirements:
- Four years work experience in social service position.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues, chemical health issues, ethnically diverse populations, people experiencing or significantly impacted by poverty, and people experiencing homelessness.
- Must be able to produce letters and reports of professional quality.
- Driver’s license and vehicle are required.
Desired:
- Experience with Support Housing and Rapid Rehousing
- Two or more years in administration, management, and supervision.
Essential Physical Functions
Employee must be able to hear and speak, in order to communicate with staff and participants in person, on the telephone and in writing. Employee must be able to move about the community and public places. Employee must be able to lift items up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
Percentage time spent away from main office/location:
Time inside: 70%, Time outside: 30%
Agency travel time required:
10% Travel includes travel within the community including but not limited to community meetings.

Number of In-direct Reports:
May provide volunteer/intern supervision.
Budget Responsibility:
The employee manages budgets in coordination with the Family Housing
Programs Director.
