Heavy Assembler assembles fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Heavy Assembler conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components. Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment. Additionally, Heavy Assembler typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Heavy Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Requirements
Successful candidate will have at least three years of prior experience in the heavy truck/diesel industry, along with being able to lift up to 30lbs without assistance. Pre-employment drug screening and satisfactory driving record required. Additionally, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with a tanker endorsement is required or must be willing to obtain. ASE Mechanic and EVT certifications as well as state inspection license a plus.
