East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full-time Head Start Health Services Specialist for our Head Start/Early Head Start Program with locations in the Upper East Bay and the Lower East Bay of RI. We seek a highly professional and motivated individual who enjoys on-site monitoring of children's health status and safety needs following Federal and State Standards and Regulations and in keeping with the goals, objectives, and mission of the Head Start and Early Head Start Program.
The Health Services Specialist will review, evaluate, and interpret health records to ensure that children are up to date with age-appropriate preventative and primary health care and in compliance with State regulations and Federal standards before admittance and throughout the program year. The Health Services Specialist will review data reports to identify children needing updated physicals and immunizations and assist families in securing needed medical care. The Health Services Specialist also works collaboratively with area physicians to facilitate referrals to services and/or obtain records as needed. The Health Services Specialist will utilize the RI Department of Health KIDSNET website to keep files updated and accurate and will monitor the health and safety of classroom environments.
The successful candidate will have at least an Associates Degree in a health-related field, a bachelor's Degree is preferred. Previous experience in pediatric and/or maternal health is a plus. Must be able to travel to various Head Start sites and conduct periodic home visits.
