Head Nurse - Operating Room jobs in Michigan
Head Nurse - Operating Room directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the operating room. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and operating room staff nurses. Being a Head Nurse - Operating Room supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records and writes reports on operating room staff performance and services rendered. Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Additionally, Head Nurse - Operating Room requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Operating Room manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Operating Room typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Registered Nurse – Operating Room – 40 Hours – Day Shift
$15,000 SIGN ON BONUS
Eligible for full-time benefits
Shift: 7:00am to 7:30pm
GENERAL SUMMARY
· Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
· Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
· Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
· Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· BSN preferred.
· Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
· Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
· Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
· Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
· Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
