Medical Device SBIR Grant Writer
This role is responsible for working alongside Principles to help clients secure SBIR funding. They will lead the full range of technical activities required to conceptualize, prepare, and deliver grant proposals to NIH. Responsible for producing the highest quality written scientific documents for funding applications and publications, including writing, editing, and proofreading grant proposals, as well as supporting end-clients as they interface with NIH and program officers. The lead writer must be deadline-driven and able to handle multiple concurrent projects per cycle, each with varying deadlines for execution.
This position is a part-time to full-time opportunity with potential for a full W-2 role

Job Duties:
- Working with the lead principle, identify fit between granting agencies’ research needs and the end-client’s needs.
- Perform literature/product searches on new ideas to understand and assess novel advancements as they relate to end client’s objectives.
- Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of platform technological advances.
- Manage various deadlines and deliverables for multiple clients concurrently.
- Conceptualize and then execute high quality, cogent, and simple written applications, translating highly scientific content into terms that appeal to a range of expert to general scientific reviewers. Responsible for the full delivery, not just the technical content.
Qualifications sought:
- PhD highly preferred. Masters Degree in life science, engineering or relevant background, essential.
- Minimum 1 year scientific writing experience, preferably in a healthcare/research/academic environment.
- Proven experience writing grants, including NIHSBIR proposals, and/or experience with other funding mechanisms.

Compensation:
1099 role with bonus commission for successful grants. Potential to move into full time W-2 role.
