Government Sales Manager jobs in New York

Government Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales to government agencies. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Being a Government Sales Manager evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the department's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Additionally, Government Sales Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to sales team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Government Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Government Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Our client seeks an experienced IT Services Sales Manager with established connections and networks within the state of New York to drive the growth of our Information Technology Consulting business. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, adept at cultivating key contacts, and comfortable with inside sales. Efficiently managing leads through the pipeline requires organizational finesse and attention to detail.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of relevant IT Services sales experience, emphasizing Information Technology Services, preferably in managed services, cloud/software, or technology security services.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business required; MBA preferred.
    • Proven track record of maintaining consistent sales growth by establishing new accounts and positioning the company as a strategic advisor.
    • Ability to research, establish, and nurture relationships with decision-makers at management and C-suite levels within client organizations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
