    About the Role

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced People Operations/HR Manager to partner with our leadership team in developing and executing HR strategies, initiatives, and programs that align with our rapidly evolving business needs. As the HR leader and professional , you will oversee all aspects of People Operations, including payroll processing, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement, directly contributing to the overall success of our organization. This role will report directly to the CEO.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Be the first point of contact for all employees in HR from compensation to employee relations and more for our employees around the world.
    • Own, run, and optimize all HR operations including HR systems and tools, HR processes e.g. payroll administration, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, etc., and HR programs e.g. employee engagement, development, and performance management.
    • Gathering and analyzing HR metrics (e.g., time to hire, headcount).
    • Partner with managers and leadership to improve overall employee engagement and productivity, helping to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Develop, update, and implement human resource policies, including the employee handbook in partnership with leadership and counsel, as applicable.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies including FTE and contingent worker requirements and compliance.
    • Develop and document processes and procedures in SOPs. Continually streamline and optimize existing processes and systems, recommend and oversee improvements.

     

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Experience managing in a global, distributed, remote company; preferably in an early stage tech start-up environment
    • Strong working knowledge of core compliance & labor law requirements, and the ability to find out and learn more as situations arise.
    • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
    • Experience with PEO partnerships and Canadian payroll practices and benefits. Knowledge of application tax, provincial, and federal regulations.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and partnership skills.
    • Ability to work proactively and independently, with a relationship first mindset to partner with necessary stakeholders to get projects completed and questions answered.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.
