Responsibilities : Responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department, under the direction of the facility Administrator and with the assistance of the Regional Dietary Consultant.
Consistently uses independent judgment and discretion in the performance of all personnel duties. Qualifications : Must possess a high school diploma and have completed an approved dietary managers course;
or possess an associates degree in Dietetic Technology. Prefer 3-5 years experience in a supervisory capacity at a long-term care facility or hospital and 1-3 year cooking experience in a long term care setting Excellent track record during state surveys Works well under pressure and in adverse conditions.
Able to direct staff in daily routine and achieve positive outcomes. Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, purchasing procedures, and budget planning.
Must show the ability to communicate effectively. Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and handicapped people. Able to relate positively to residents, their families, and staff;
possesses a strong customer service background. Must meet all local health regulations and pass a post-employment-offer physical exam, if required.
This requirement includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiries. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.
