Finance Director jobs in Texas
Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director generally is the second most senior finance executive. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent. Additionally, Finance Director may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Finance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Finance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Finance to lead our Finance Department. Key Responsibilities
Supervision: Lead and manage the Finance Department staff, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environment.
Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, maintaining efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
Financial Functions: Manage accounts receivable, payable, and payroll functions, ensuring all transactions are processed timely and correctly.
Planning and Development: Develop and maintain Finance Department priorities and strategic plans, contributing to the overall organizational goals.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in accounts receivable, payable, and payroll functions is required. Supervisory experience is also a must.
Skills: Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, delegate, develop programs, and facilitate tasks effectively. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and the ability to meet agency underwriting standards.
