Summary of Position:

The position is responsible for coordinating hourly employees in the shipping department, ensuring the accurate shipping of available finished product inventory, and tracking these activities.

Essential Functions

• Product Identification and Documentation: Ensure all pallets being shipped are properly labeled with dates and product conditions.
• Shipping Efficiency: Oversee the efficient shipment, distribution, and receipt of products, parts, or supplies, ensuring all shipments are accurately recorded, bill of lading are correctly filled out, and paperwork is properly distributed.
• Coordination with Other Departments: Communicate with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities involving production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
• Documentation: Prepare or review distribution documents.
• Personnel Management: Screen and hire warehouse personnel, issue work assignments, and coordinate the activities of forklift operators, hand jack operators, and general utility personnel.
• Housekeeping and Inventory Management: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of dry storage, shipping dock, and box cooler areas; keep accurate records of inventories and locations for production control and cost accounting.
• Trailer and Inventory Inspection: Inspect incoming and outgoing trailers for temperature, cleanliness, and structural integrity; verify and apply seals on storage loads; ensure proper rotation of cooler inventory.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety procedures are followed in accordance with plant and OSHA guidelines.
• Availability: May require availability outside of normal business hours.

• Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate recognized leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
• Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and maintain good customer service relationships.

Education

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience

• Requires 5 years of related experience.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10% travel.
