Fashion Designer jobs in the United States
Fashion Designer is responsible for executing the fashion design strategy for an organization. Creates and manages multiple fashion design projects from conceptualization to finished product and ensures projects are aligned with the brand's identity. Being a Fashion Designer presents design concepts and ideas to internal stakeholders. Effectively communicates design details to the product development and production teams. Additionally, Fashion Designer determines final style, material, and color based on input from sales/marketing, merchandising, development, and manufacturing teams. Ensures fashion designs meet high-quality standards and adhere to approved guidelines. Keeps abreast of consumer needs and trends. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in apparel/fashion design or related field. Typically reports to a manager. The Fashion Designer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Fashion Designer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

- Ability to manage seasonal calendar, adhere to product development deadlines and key benchmark meetings.
- Designs a balanced collection appropriate to the demands of the business growth strategy.
- Being accountable for sourcing incoming swatches/trims from the factories for seasonal fabric development.
- Assign Print and Color to style ensuring prints and patterns are balanced and look integrated across various silhouettes.
- Reviews all incoming samples making sure submits are matching to standard and licensing agreement.
- Solution oriented with ability to anticipate problems, address issues, and resolve challenges in a timely manner.
- Maintains an organized design space (samples, files, visual CAD’s etc.) so that information is readily accessible to teammates.
