The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Facility Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and usability of the buildings and grounds located across the Summit Point campus. This individual must possess a professional demeanor as well as a keen attention to detail. This position is part of a team; cooperation and collaboration are critical for success in this the position.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:- Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.
- Develops, maintains, and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
- Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required.
- Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow.
- Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
Required:- Requires a high school diploma with 1-3 year of general work experience.
- Possesses an advanced understanding of general aspects of the job.
- Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
- Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- 1 year’s experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
This position is very active and requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, use of hands, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 100 pounds.
Work Conditions:
Typical assignments are frequently performed in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions. Ability to work under extreme hot or cold weather conditions with exposure to dust or dirt and hazards is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment. Most of the work is performed in outside weather conditions. The worker may be subject to atmospheric conditions, is frequently in close quarters, and is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
