FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, supervising, and participating in the maintenance and repair of college buildings and grounds.
Essential Functions
· Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, participates, and evaluates the work of employees engaged in performing skilled and semi-skilled buildings and grounds maintenance and repair duties. Responds to emergency requests for repairs. |

Work Environment
Maintenance Supervisors split their time between shop and office work. They may observe workers throughout the building, go outdoors to supervise groundskeeping activities, work on equipment, order parts, and visit other campuses as directed. They provide help to staff, faculty, and students as needed.

Maintenance Supervisors may have to stand for long periods or lift heavy objects. These workers may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable or cramped positions, climbing ladders, or sitting at a computer to order parts, manage the work order system, and manage personnel records.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, mainly located on the Carroll Campus. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 7 am to 4:30 pm and Friday, 8 am until 12 pm. Depending on the needs of the college a Monday through Thursday schedule of four ten hours days may be approved. This position occasionally requires longer hours (more than 40) and supervisors are on call to address problems that arise at all hours.
Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required, as needed.
Required Education and Experience
· High School diploma or equivalent *and* three (3) years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Previous experience of at least one year in a supervisor position overseeing the maintenance and grounds of a facility to include chillers, boilers and general day to day maintenance operations.

Salary/Benefits
Annual salary $49,640. Benefits include 13 paid state holidays, vacation, retirement, personal and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
