Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Facilities Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Requirements

    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. Organizational skills to effectively meet competing priorities.

    • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, staff members, representatives of community and government agencies.

    • Must be able to read/write/speak/understand the English language.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities


    Resident Care Manager

    • Create and develop plan of care for each resident.

    • Completes resident assessments for admit, discharge, change of condition and at scheduled intervals.

    • Attends care conferences and provides resident and family with explanations/education as necessary and attends stand up daily.

    • Ensure that day to day issues are addressed including but not limited to: resident assessments, changes of condition, requests from the physician, weight reviews and hydration assessments, AIMS testing, schedule consultations and nourishment intake.

    • Consults with DNS and keeps him/her informed of pertinent information.

    • Reviews patient inquiries from hospital and assesses resident in person as needed.

    • Ability to implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies & procedures of the nursing department

    • Able to perform proficiently in all clinical competency areas including but not limited to: supervisory responsibilities, charting and documentation, direct patient care, drug administration, patient rights, infection control, safety and sanitation

    • Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc. Work in the department as well as throughout the campus facility

    • Understand and follow facility policies including harassment and compliance procedures. Attend and participate in continuing education programs

    • Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to federal, state, and local regulation; and other appropriate compliance training

    • Monitor charts and documents on nursing stations to ensure the appropriate, accurate, and timely documentation

    • Monitoring the performance and documentation of nursing staff in caring for the residents and assure that nursing services provided for the resident allow residents to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being

    • Work with DNS to conduct internal audits and install corrective action plans to ensure the compliance with the federal, state, and local regulations are met

    • Able to respond in a leadership capacity to emergency situations related to patient and staff safety.

    • Facilitate efficient operations including staff assignments

    • Exhibit excellent client service and a positive attitude toward residents, families, visitors, and vendors

    • Must demonstrate dependability, regular good attendance, time management, use of reasoning and good judgment skills

    • Must be able to concentrate with frequent interruptions

    • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team to be involved with residents, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances

    • Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.

    • Work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions temporarily as necessary

    • Must be able to perform other duties as assigned by DNS/Administrator
