Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., overtime as needed including weekends and holidays.
Job Summary: Responsible production line set-up including but not limited to testing and adjusting line equipment prior to operation and ensuring production line starts on schedule. Assiist in production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift. Assist with establishing and maintaining department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.. Assist in Monitoring and reporting daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime. Reports equipment problems to appropriate department and production manager.
