Executive Steward oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen(s) or other food preparation areas. Assists in cleaning equipment or food preparation areas as needed. Being an Executive Steward is responsible for inventory control and kitchen equipment, item management. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Additionally, Executive Steward may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Executive Steward supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Executive Steward typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     YOUR DAY TO DAY


    Assists in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with the Choice Hotels overall mission, vision, values, and strategies

    • Establishes rotating cleaning calendar for special cleaning projects and manages staff to clean accordingly.
    • Assists executive committee in establishing stewarding budget
    • Maintains controls to guard against theft and waste


    Ensures smooth operation of kitchen department by

    • Directs cleaning of floors and work surfaces daily
    • Properly staffs stewarding to forecasted department business to ensure coverage while minimizing cost
    • Trains staff on use of dishwashing and other cleaning equipment and processes
    • Ensures trash is removed promptly


    Maintains supplies and equipment for cafeteria and Food and Beverage Department

    • Maintains levels of stewarding stock, makes requisitions and obtains approval as needed
    • Assures proper distribution and storage of supplies
    • Monitors supply of clean dishware, glassware, pots and pans
    • Takes steps to ensure kitchen and restaurant have needed supplies


    Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement


    Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. Provides employees with the training and resources they need to maximize employee engagement and deliver Yes I Can! service and teamwork


    Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guest


    Requirements

    • Minimum one year management experience in full service stewarding operations
    • 3 years of experience in hotel food and beverage
    • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in hospitality preferred
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
    • Able to resolve conflicts guests, supervisor and employee
    • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
    • Basic computer skills in MS Office, reservation systems, and point of sales systems
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays


    Skills

    • Experience managing owner relations
    • Able to resolve conflicts; guest, supervisor and employee
    • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and manager to ensure and environment of teamwork
    • Knowledge of hotel of hotel operations including; preparations of business plans, budget forecasting, quality assurance program, hospitality law, and long-range planning
