Job Purpose/Summary: Responsible for overall operations of equipment and personnel in direct support of our shallow water fleet or other as directed. Requires operation of machinery, perform or direct maintenance/repairs of equipment specific to our fleet and fleet support needs, requires project management in scheduling repairs, cargo operations, and personnel deployment. Expect full seasonal deployment to the Prudhoe Bay region for duration of the normal maritime season, as well as locational support including maintenance and repair as needed where vessels are located. Coordinates activities with customers and vendors, requires ability to draft accurate budgets and manage expenditures in all cost accounts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the maritime industry or comparable trade and 3 years supervisory experience. Ability to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission is required. Practical experience with industrial equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical power generation preferred. Familiarity with marine cargo operations, and proper securing and lashing techniques is necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions: Approximately 50% of the work is conducted in a normal office environment; the remaining 50% is performed in the field around the vicinity of heavy equipment, with prolonged seasonal stays in regional offices. High noise levels exist, and hearing protection is required. Requires routine exposure to potentially hazardous airborne particles and chemical hazards, protective safety equipment must be used. Must be able to work at heights and handle stress in emergency situations. May be required to work more than a normal workweek due to seasonal requirements, which includes weekends. Travel will be required. Availability to work on a 24 hour around the clock basis in highly remote areas. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.
Physical/Mental Demands: Hand eye coordination is needed due to the requirement to work in the vicinity of and on rotating machinery, as well as transitional between moving tug and barge platforms over water. Night vision is required in locations that conduct seasonal work in predominately darkness. Depth perception is required on those occasions where operation of moving equipment is necessary. Requires the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, bend down to lower-level files, and reach overhead files. Must be able to stand and walk for up to six hours per day. Frequently lifting 50 pounds. The ability to climb ladders and over bulwarks. Ability to move between buildings, ascend/descend stairs and go outdoors in all kinds of weather.
