Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Job Description

    This position is responsible for all duties relating to accounts payables, accounts receivables, financial/budget reports, Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps (MCCC) payroll, invoice processing, and human resources functions for the Resource Protection and Promotion (RPP) Section. The RPP Section manages extensive programs that receive grants for work or revenue from concessions and leases. This position requires the incumbent to have knowledge of Parks and Recreation Division (PRD) accounting and procurement policies and procedures while performing assigned tasks. Additionally, the incumbent will play a role in the planning, scheduling, and coordinating meetings as well as distributing, requesting, reviewing, and analyzing information and documents.

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Experience

    Accounting Technician 7
    One year of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements equivalent to an Accounting Assistant E7.

    Accounting Technician 8
    Two years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Technician 7 or an Accounting Assistant 8.

    Accounting Technician E9
    Three years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Technician 8, two years equivalent to an Accounting Technician 7, or one year equivalent to an Office Supervisor with a subclass code of BKPS.

    Accounting Technician 10
    Four years of experience involving posting to ledger accounts, reconciling accounts, executing adjustments, and preparing financial statements, including one year equivalent to an Accounting Technician 9 or two years equivalent to an Office Supervisor with a subclass code of BKPS.

    Alternate Education and Experience

    Accounting Technician 7
    Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for the experience requirement.

    Accounting Technician 8
    Possession of an associate's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses may be substituted for one year of Accounting Technician 7 experience.

    Accounting Technician E9
    Possession of a Bachelor's degree with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in accounting courses and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

    Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
