Position Description:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for design, development, implementation, analysis of the design and project management of engineering systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design (MEP).
· Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality.
· Responsible for all aspects of the engineering (MEP) design.
· Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.
· Conducts surveys to gather field data.
· Prepares drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
· Prepares technical construction specifications.
· Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
· Coordinates activities of the engineering design team.
· Reviews plans and specifications for constructability and project adherence.
· Performs field inspections as part of the construction quality assurance process.
· Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction.
· Assist in the receipt and review of MEP submittals.
· Assist in the scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change work orders.
· Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with project schedules and assign work to team as needed.
· Assist with project budget and fees as needed.
· Deliver technical presentation to internal and external audiences as required as part of the design process.
· Provide mentoring to other staff members as directed.
· Assist in employee reviews.
· May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

· Code and Mathematical knowledge required: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws. Work requires advanced math skills, special relationship abilities, and the ability to understand “abstract” principles behind math and physics.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
· Must be registered Professional Engineer (PE). If not, in the state of Oklahoma, engineer must be able to easily obtain shortly after employment.
· Proven minimum of 5 years’ related experience
· BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
· AutoCAD and/or Revit knowledge (Proficiency with Revit preferred)
· Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Word, and Excel
· Experience in design with a focus on power, lighting, communications, and grounding systems design
· Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools or Easy-Power, preferred
· Working knowledge of Visual, preferred
· Sound working knowledge of NEC, building codes, building systems, and construction methods
Working Conditions:
· This position occupies a general office environment with occasional site visits.
· Traveling is required.
· Employee will drive their vehicle and ride with others while performing their job responsibilities. On occasions flights and/or rental cars will be required.
· Construction site visits are required based on the needs of the client. Surveying crawl spaces and other tight spaces may be required. Occasional exposure to weather elements are likely during site visits.
· Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of clients.
· Working with challenging clients and being able to communication effectively is required.
