Being an Electric Meter Installer and Repairer may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electric Meter Installer and Repairer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Position: Meter Repairer A (CT - East Hartford - Meadow St) (R-05722)
Number of Positions: 1
Location: CT - East Hartford - Meadow St
Responsibilities- Slow motion testing of meters.
- Spray painting of meters.
- Hydro test meters and pressure test meters.
- Make minor repairs on meters.
- Replace tops of meters.
- Remove tops and repack stuffing boxes, replace necessary parts and otherwise prepare meters for readjustment.
- Does custodial work necessary to keep Meter Shop in orderly condition.
- Removes meters from stock and places on loading platform.
- Does other related work of miscellaneous nature that may be assigned.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have the ability to do work of a mechanical nature.
- Must have a MVD license and a good driving record.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties required.
