Diesel Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Responsible for traveling to a variety of customer locations to service On-highway vehicles for diagnosis and repair of internal and external engine components as well as fuel, cooling, exhaust, electrical and aftertreatment systems.
Pay Rate Range as follows: Tech III - $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $5000 (for this position specifically, terms apply)
Top pay rate offered for the following:
Series 60 / DD heavy duty platform
EPA07 – GHG21 aftertreatment system diagnosis
MBE and 2-Cycle a plus
Proficient with Diagnostic link, G2 Certification preferred.
