Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will assist in the daily operations of the bakery, including product display, inventory management, and customer interactions. Your ability to upsell products and create a welcoming environment will contribute to an enjoyable shopping experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their bakery needs.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist in stocking shelves and displays with fresh baked goods.
• Provide information about products, including ingredients and dietary options.
• Upsell bakery items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Buss tables in the café area as needed, ensuring a tidy environment for customers.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Skills

• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Experience in food service or grocery store settings is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to upsell products through engaging customer interactions.
• Previous experience in a café or restaurant setting is a plus.

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
