The Senior Director, Clinical Data & Insights is a pivotal member of the Operational Data Strategy (ODS) leadership team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a performance management framework for Clinical Data and Insights (CDI) and providing broad support across Clinical Operations. You will directly support key transformation initiatives across the organization, requiring strong stakeholder management and leadership skills. You will be accountable for the strategic direction of performance management across Clinical Data & Insights and beyond.

Accountable for the strategic direction and implementation of performance management frameworks across the Clinical Data & Insights organization, with elements of broader support across Clinical Operations.
Directly supports key transformation initiatives with (>$10MM multi-year investments), ensuring alignment between transformation demands and business sustainability.
Accountable for targeted components of strategy development across all segments of Clinical Data & Insights.
Accountable for strategic direction of performance management and performance-related analytics components of operational data function.
Defines roadmap for performance management and key transformation initiatives to adopt emerging digital technology and operational data science to deliver business insights.
Lead efforts to continually innovate and leverage cutting-edge technologies to ensure standardization, automation, and enable informed decision-making with emphasis on insights and performance reporting.
Accountable for the management of performance data in a compliant and GxP considered approach, with quality by design embedded.
Requires a broad understanding of the business of AstraZeneca and the needs from a financial health and operational requirement perspective.
Influences senior stakeholders, negotiates with key partners, and provides performance management and transformation leadership where required.

Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Biological Sciences, Data, IT, Policy, Compliance, Legal or related field with understanding of data and analytics
10 years of experience with relevant Bachelor's, 7 years of experience with relevant Masters, 5 years of experience with relevant PhD in consulting, business operations, reporting, analysis/data management
Proven leadership experience with multiple data collection and/or analytical and reporting technologies
Proven track record of building strategy, leading, and managing successful innovation initiatives
Proven leadership skills promoting motivation and empowerment of others in order to accomplish individual, team, and organizational objectives
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, allocate resources, and set performance targets in a global environment
Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully to acquire desired outcomes while maintaining effective and positive relationships at a functional and organizational level
Ability to see opportunities, lead and foster cross-functional/external collaboration, and work across boundaries to increase performance in the end-to-end clinical development value chain
Ability to manage risk and roadblocks in a dynamic environment
