Curriculum Specialist jobs in Michigan

Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.       District Curriculum Specialist

      Pay Range $78,474-$84,943/ 211 Days

      Qualifications

      A valid Michigan Administrator Certificate.

      Possession of a Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

      Not less than three years of successful teaching experience and three years of successful school administrative experience.

      Possess the ability to work effectively as a member of the district curriculum team and utilize initiative to follow through with tasks as assigned by the superintendent.

      Possess administrative skills in planning, coordinating, directing and evaluation to ensure the positive development of curriculum issues and related extracurricular programs and services and accountability for those programs.

      Possess a sound concept of democratic, participatory leadership in working with staff on such instructional issues as curriculum planning, instructional improvement, professional development, and other school related issues.

      Possess the skill needed to analyze problems or concerns, develop alternative approaches to these and make reasonable decisions which fall within policy and standard practices of the district.

      Possess a sensitivity to the needs of the community and be able to design programs that meet the community needs.

      Possess an understanding of the differences between staff evaluation and staff supervision.

      A demonstrated ability to effectively anticipate, develop, communicate and implement the strategic goals of the district.
