A dynamic organization in the Solon area is looking for an experienced Controller to enhance its financial operations. This key role will focus on establishing and overseeing a robust accounting framework that provides critical insights for strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Build and lead a skilled Accounting Department with capable team members.
- Facilitate comprehensive training and provide constructive feedback to the accounting team.
- Create and refine annual budgets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for independent auditors regarding financial and tax-related inquiries.
- Oversee credit approvals, manage credit extensions, and ensure timely collections of overdue accounts.
- Direct and streamline accounts payable, manual invoicing, and cash receipt processes.
- Monitor daily cash flow.
- Oversee and maintain fixed asset documentation.
- Prepare weekly updates for management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions and insurance agents.
- Conduct a variety of tasks related to general and cost accounting, ensuring accurate monthly financial statements reflect the company’s status and performance against budget.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of general and cost accounting principles, financial theories, tax procedures, and budgeting methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA, CMA, or MBA designation is highly desirable.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; familiarity with IFS and Paylocity is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
