Being a CopyWriting Manager creates and designs standards and procedures for team. Acts as advisor to copywriting team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Additionally, CopyWriting Manager is responsible for publication schedule planning and budget control. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The CopyWriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. This is an unpaid summer internship starting in June 2024.
We are looking for a Copywriting Intern to join the Downtown Neighbors Alliance team.
Students will have the opportunity to write about industry trends, news, current events, industry professionals and more for the Downtown Neighbors Alliance e-newsletter, The Downtowner. The Copywriting Intern has the opportunity to use and improve upon creative content, copy and/or business writing skills.
Responsibilities include:
● Write articles for our weekly and biweekly newsletters
● Draft public relations-related statements, headlines, and relevant content
● Work with staff on content ideas and event calendars
● Research and analysis for related projects
● Ability to write clear, concise, grammatically correct copy
● Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
● Demonstrate collaborative skills to work closely with our Team and community members
● Ability to concept, draft and make necessary edits
Additional duties include interviewing community and industry members, preparing interview questions, developing new and original content, scheduling publish dates, editing/proofreading, fact-checking and participating in team meetings.
All interns have the opportunity to help out in other areas and may be asked to assist with miscellaneous projects as they arise. You will be part of a small and diverse team that makes a large community impact.
