On behalf of our client here in Vancouver, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Configuration Analyst for a full-time opportunity.
Role: The Configuration Analyst manages the configuration and implementation of the HR, Finance (and in future, Student) products. Leads the translation of business requirements to technical specifications and manages implementation projects with support from Functional Analysts representing operations. Leads complex prototyping; review, approval, configurations and unit-testing for releases, enhancements and changes for the enterprise system.
Responsibilities:
1) Manages system development, configuration and implementation analysis for the HR, Finance, and/or Student application(s) within the ISC product. This includes, but is not limited to, the collection and interpretation of stakeholder needs, enterprise risk analysis of change requirements and impact, and communicating to senior leadership the impact to the company’s Community relating to configuration updates.
- Leads the translation of business requirements to technical specifications and manages implementation projects with support from functional product leads. This includes recommending appropriate solutions aligning to the needs, creating technical configuration specification and risk documentation.
- Responsible for leading events management and utilizing subject matter expertise to resolve issues, performing related prototyping, configuration and unit-testing releases, enhancements and changes, and providing future mitigation recommendations to leadership.
- The Incumbent will report on activities to leadership, identifying continuous service improvement opportunities and remedial action to minimize risk, identifying the potential impact or degree of change for the client’s Community and Administrative Super-users.
- Reproduces, test, resolve and documents software bugs, defects and problems.
- Resolves highly complex Tier 2 & 3, Service Centre tickets, engaging the product vendor for support when necessary.
- Manages and provides technical subject matter expertise and advice through every phase of the configuration life cycle in support of ongoing updates and evolution of the Workday product for the client’s community.
- Manages the execution of configuration related to access management, data management, tenant management, integrations, and security for the application over its lifecycle.
2) Develops and maintains effective partnerships across the ISC and the broader client’s community.
- The Incumbent is the configuration subject matter expert and main point for configuration inquires across the ISC and technical professionals across campus where it relates to the ISC; collaborates across the ISC to align work, priorities and practices and to assess design needs for continuous improvement.
3) Advocates for a partnership that moves client's practices from "system of record" to "platform of engagement" through collaborative and innovative efforts.
- Solicits feedback fostering an agile, innovative, and collaborative transformation experience.
- Partners with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues related to engagement, adoption, sustainment, and continuous improvement.
4) Actively promotes best practices in the security and privacy of personal information and data; makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis methodology
- 2-3 years of Workday Payroll and Finance configuration exp
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, in-depth knowledge of applications and the business requirements supporting them or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in ERP implementation/configuration is required.
- Experience working a variety of software including Jira, Confluence and ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow.
- Experience working in complex, academic environments is preferred.
- Proven experience in end-to-end configuration practice within an evolving, complex product.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize indicators of product performance and actions required to improve the performance.
Nice to have:
- ITIL certification (minimum basic level) is an asset.
