Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Pay range for this position is $36.08 - $53.56/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Clinical Educator functions autonomously and in collaboration with the health care tem in clinical practice, quality and safety and leadership roles. The clinical educator is responsible for providing appropriate education, which includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating orientation, education, competency, and skill-building needs of OSF HealthCare employees to enhance the quality of patient care services.
The clinical educator ensures such programs are based on the principle of delivering care appropriate to the patient population served using innovative, high quality education in accordance with best practice and in alignment with the strategic goals and clinical initiatives of OSF.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 1 year of direct patient care
Licensure/ Certification:
-Current state license RN.
-Current American Heart Association healthcare provider BLS.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: MSN
Experience: Previous nursing leadership role.
Licensure/ Certification: Clinical specialty, professional development or nursing education.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Program and curriculum development in nursing education.
