Childbirth Educator provides instruction and education to patients planning to give birth. Presents curriculum in a group setting. Being a Childbirth Educator reviews class material and recommends changes based on educational standards. May assist in developing new content. Additionally, Childbirth Educator may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Childbirth Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Overview
Seeking RN to facilitate/teach childbirth education classes. Part-time opportunity. Training provided by Cincinnati Childbirth Education Association. Filling positions for weeknight (7p-9p) classes (1 day a week ). Classes held at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
Experience
Experience as a clinical provider in the Maternal and Child Health field (labor and delivery and/or postpartum care) or previous experience as an instructor in childbirth education preferred, but not required.
Skills/Requirements
Current RN licensure required.
Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups of 4-20 people.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to provide own transportation to/from local hospitals.
Applicant must be available to teach at least 1 night a week (7pm-9pm).
