Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Serves as the primary technical expert and consultant in a variety of specialized fields of technology. Routinely conducts enterprise-level design, research, and recommended strategies. Routinely provides leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and deployment of new enterprise-wide technologies. Responsibilities: Review emerging technologies, tools, products and services. Oversee the selection of process for the acquisition of these technologies, tools, products and services. Conduct research, development and business assessment of new emerging technology products, market trends, and industry knowledge. Initiate proof of concept (POC), pilots and prepare white papers and documentation of POC results, recommendations and operational support. Implement technology framework by defining principles, best practices and standards. Create a near-term and long-term technology roadmap strategy aligning initiatives and projects. Develop cost analysis models and vendor comparisons for large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Meet with IT stakeholders to understand business requirements and their implications on technology solutions. Collaborate with System Office executive CIO staff members on technology projects, research, planning, and initiatives. Collaborate with System member IT leaders on technology projects, research, planning, and initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field Ten years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong administrative, interpersonal, and leadership skills, high ethical standards, and a commitment to excellence. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with a range of people. Must have strong interpersonal skills. Skills in strategic thinking, research, and planning to include: creativity/innovation, design theory, advanced systems theory, risk management, strategic disaster recovery & business continuity, integrating solutions, leveraging, strategic resources, and strategic partnering. Strategic technical expertise to include: enterprise-level policies, and advanced technology research and design skills. Strategic industry-related skills to include: in-depth knowledge of the global IT industry and trends and advanced knowledge of current and emerging IT industry issues and trends.
