Develops strategies and oversees the execution of plans to attain short- and long-term financial and mission-critical operational goals. Being a Chief Operating Officer directs the development of the organization's functional capacity that will produce sustainable growth and minimize risk. Develops operating budgets. Additionally, Chief Operating Officer establishes effective operational policies and procedures. Typically requires a master's degree. Typically reports to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Defines corporate vision and strategy establishes company direction and focus. Our client, a leading trading company based in Chicago, is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will be responsible for supply chain, trading and operations reporting to the CEO.
Role Profile
- Directs and coordinates global supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
- Develops appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
- Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinates commercial, sourcing, supply chain and IT departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a related field
- Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer
- Experience in US market is a must
- Strong leadership skills with an international perspective
- Ability to work in a dynamically changing environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- An analytical mindset with a high degree of attention to details
- The ability to think objectively and demonstrate sound judgement
- Advanced level of English
