Chief Helicopter Pilot partners with general aviation management to establish and implement operating policies and procedures for helicopter pilots. Ensures flights are operated in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations. Being a Chief Helicopter Pilot schedules flight personnel, maintenance and maintains flight records. Assumes flight duty. Additionally, Chief Helicopter Pilot has all required licenses and meets flying time requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL(H). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Helicopter Pilot manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Helicopter Pilot typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Role Overview:
    Join our elite team in providing life-saving medical transportation services. As a Helicopter Captain Pilot in Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations, you’ll operate under CAMTS guidelines. Your expertise as a Captain H145 IFR/NVG pilot will be vital in executing 24/7 operations, including day and night duty rotations. This role requires a professional ready to make real-time decisions that impact patient outcomes.
    Responsibilities:
    • Command H145 IFR/NVG helicopters in various flight conditions.
    • Perform 24/7 operations with day and night rotations.
    • Lead community outreach initiatives and follow internal policies.
    • Support safety campaigns, including the Safety Management System and Destination Zero.
    • Assist in patient and equipment loading/unloading.
    • Provide exceptional service to customers while ensuring safety.

    Requirements:
    • VE7A certificate and First Class Medical qualification.
    • Obtain ATP within 12 months.
    • Meet CAMTS requirements:
      • 2,000 total hours.
      • 1,500 helicopter hours.
      • 1,000 PIC helicopter hours.
      • 500 turbine helicopter hours.
      • 100 unaided night operations hours.
      • 100 combined NVG and unaided night hours.
    • Maintain a body weight under 235 pounds.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
    • Interview and acceptance from customer/management.
