Job Summary
Receive and process all payment methods for In-Room Dining checks, courteously and efficiently in accordance with hotel standards. Settle all guest checks in the computer system and maintain accountability for all financial transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Be familiar with table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and dress code of assigned outlet.
• Answer outlet telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
• Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems and procedures.
• Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies.
• Keep bank secure at all times.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu and drink prices in assigned outlet.
• Obtain change required for expected business level.
• Obtain a Security escort whenever transporting bank to/from assigned outlet.
• Be familiar with daily house count, expected outlet business and menu items and specials.
• Settle all checks opened under own I.D.
• Settle all Servers checks before leaving; report open checks to outlet supervisor/manager.
• Complete designated closing reports in the P.O.S. system.
• Restock journal tape and change ribbons as needed.
• When system is down, obtain manual checks and follow all Accounting procedures.
• Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies/close checks
• Designated staff and document tips, following Accounting and legal requirements.
• Count bank at end of shift and secure bank.
• Legibly complete designated cashier reports and distribute in accordance with Accounting procedures.
• Attend pre-meal meeting as scheduled by restaurant manager.
• Handle guest complaints following the six step procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Access all functions of the P.O.S. system in accordance to specifications.
• Courteously acknowledge all guests arriving/departing the outlet, however busy and whatever time of the day.
• Be familiar with all hotel services/facilities and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
• Participate in quality control activities.
• Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
• Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Ensure that standards, inclusive of grooming and attire of staff, are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.

• Possess complete knowledge of the hotel PMS and POS system as it relates to amenities and guest preferences/notes

• Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 25 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding

Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity for a luxury or ultra-luxury property.
Compensation: $28.4647 - $37.9529 per hour
