    Wyoming Seminary seeks a full-time Director and Campus Safety and Security. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities Operations. The Director of Campus Safety and Security works in partnership on an array of projects and collaborates with offices and individuals throughout the school including the Director of Technology, Director of Facilities Operations, Senior Administration, and Dean of Students among others. In addition to managing all day-to-day facets of this department, the Director will also work front-line shifts throughout a normal week. The Department of Campus Safety and Security is a service-oriented, problem-solving unit. Its primary purpose is to provide a safe, secure environment in which teaching, learning, and administrative operations of the school have an opportunity to excel.



    Essential Responsibilities

    • Implement and maintain a comprehensive security program for the school that includes policies, procedures and guidelines that align with or exceed industry best practices to provide an overt and reliable security presence on campus.
    • Oversees the daily security operations of the campuses (internal and outsources), identify potential security risks and propose enhancements. Coordinates and directs the scheduling of employee security staff and external staffing to ensure comprehensive security coverage for the institution’s needs including specialevents and activities.
    • Ensures campus readiness for emergencies through actions such as emergency preparedness drills, implementation of a comprehensive training program for campus security officers and the development /implementation of comprehensive emergency preparedness plans.
    • Assist with recruiting, training, and supervising security personnel, ensuring they are equipped to respond effectively to emergencies and other security-related incidents.
    • Initiates, coordinates, and leads staff and student training programs on emergency/active shooter response, including situational awareness, de-escalation training, evacuation strategies, and shelter-in-place procedures.
    • Serves as the designated liaison and collaborates with external partners including Pennsylvania State Police, Kingston Police Department, Kingston Fire Department, Forty Fort Police Department, Luzerne County Emergency Management, other law enforcement entities and campus safety leaders throughout Northeast Pennsylvania.
    • Oversee video surveillance, badging, and visitor management in collaboration with the Director of Information Technology. Report school incidents, crimes and respond to all emergencies.
    • Available outside of working hours (weekends and evenings) to assist with emergency situations.
    • Perform all other related tasks and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications – Education/Certification /Skills

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in law enforcement, security, military or managing a security public safety operation.
    • Experience as a Security or Safety Officer capacity ideally in an educational institution.
    • PA Act 235 Lethal Weapons with Firearm, including management of armed officers.
    • High level and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Strong written and verbal skills; ability to seamlessly engage and reach common understanding with students from diverse backgrounds and experience.
    • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, faculty, students and community groups.
    • Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Excel, Word and Google applications and ability to learn and use software used by Wyoming Seminary .
    • High School diploma or GED required
    • Valid Driver’s license with no history of suspensions or revocations.
    • Certifications and training include CPR/AED, advanced First Aid and Emergency Management Training.

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to walk the school property; climb stairs; stand for long periods on hard pavement and physically able to assist or carry a disabled, ill or injured person if required.
