We are conducting a confidential search for a Controller with a client company that is one of the largest retail employers in Michigan. This is a hybrid position, and it is based around Novi, MI.
This Sr.-level position will partner with the leadership team in translating business strategy into action that drives business results for this key business, and be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization.
-Responsible for accounting, financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, inventory management, forecasting, cost accounting, forecasting, and related analytical analysis.
-Responsible for the monthly financial closing process.
-Ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
-Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including capital project reviews, asset capitalization and the physical inventory of fixed assets.
-Accountable for inventory management, ensuring that the business' inventory controls are adequate, reconciling inventory balances monthly, identifying overage and aging material issues, and coordinating periodic physical inventories.
-Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and variance analysis on costing activities.
