Biostatistician conducts statistical studies to generate data and insights used to innovate, plan and support improved healthcare outcomes and processes. Prepares analysis plans to ensure the best statistical methods are developed and utilized. Being a Biostatistician writes specifications for files, consistency checks, tables, and calculations used to collect and analyzes data from a variety of sources. Interprets analyses and prepares exhibits for reports and presentations. Additionally, Biostatistician interfaces with non technical users to assist with data interpretation and understanding of results. Proficient with statistical computer applications like SAS and R. Typically requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Biostatistician occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Pennington Biomedical Research Center , a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Biostatistician in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

    The Biostatistician will work alongside faculty and senior staff and participates as a member of a team of biostatisticians who collaborate in the conduct and reporting of clinical and epidemiological studies.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Prepare analysis datasets from raw data under the direct supervision of biostatistics faculty or senior staff.
    • Perform data management and and data editing under the direct supervision of biostatistics faculty or senior staff.
    • Create analysis related macros in for use with statistical software.
    • Document all new processes and procedures created.
    • Contribute to portions of abstracts, posters, reports, and manuscripts for publications/presentations.
    • Work closely with biostatistics faculty or senior staff to set priorities and deadlines, some of which might be tight, and maintain high quality work.
    • Execute all tasks with attention to detail.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Statistic, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathletics or related field required.
    • One year experience with SAS, R, STATA, or SPSS preferred.
    • Experience or inclination to learn Python, SQL, or other emerging languages is a plus.
    • Experience with UNIX is a plus.
    • Motivation to learn or employ AI is a plus.
