JOB SUMMARY:
The
Medical Billing Analyst may be responsible for collecting, posting, and
managing account payments, and for submitting claims and following up with
insurance companies. 40 hours per week.
SPECIFIC
JOB DUTIES:
- Processes billings to patients
and insurance reimbursement claims; maintains supporting documentation
files and current patient addresses.
- Processes patient statements,
keys data, posts transactions, and verifies accuracy of input to reports
generated.
- Researches and responds by
telephone and in writing to patient inquiries regarding billing issues and
problems.
- Follows up on submitted claims;
monitors unpaid claims, initiates tracers, resubmits claims, as necessary.
- May receive and receipt cash
items and third-party reimbursements; posts and reconciles payments to
patient ledgers.
- Maintains patient demographic
information and data collection systems.
- Participates in development of
organization procedures and update of forms and manuals.
- Performs a variety of general
clerical duties, including telephone reception, mail distribution, and
other routine functions.
- Ensures strict confidentiality of
financial records.
- Computer literate, able to use
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and
Accounting.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related
duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To

- Education and/or Experience: High school
diploma or general education degree (GED) and preferred five (5) years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read
and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other
employees of the organization.
- Evaluation of Duties: Initial review
will be performed at 30 days from date of hire to ensure training is
completed timely and employee is good fit for company. An evaluation will
be performed at 90 days to evaluate performance. Quarterly evaluations of
specified duties will be performed by the Operations Director and HR
Manager. Findings will be reviewed with the employee for further training
and discussions.
