Beverage Manager - Casino manages all activities of the beverage function for the organization. Identifies, evaluates and develops strategies to increase revenue and guest satisfaction with the department's services. Being a Beverage Manager - Casino ensures compliance with all food and beverage regulations. Monitors equipment and inventory levels and takes appropriate action. Additionally, Beverage Manager - Casino may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to the head of the unit/department. The Beverage Manager - Casino supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.       Job Summary

      Overview: Department head reporting to Senior Director of Operations, overseeing aspects of beverage department operations including purchasing, storage, menu selection, and specialty event operations. Extensive knowledge in Mixology, Wine Pairing, and Menu Selection required, Previous Experience in High-volume high-profile event operations required as well. This position will be part of the R&D team, keeping Occasions out in the vanguard and on the cutting edge of new technology and new trends in the industry. Required knowledge of Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland laws pertaining to the purchase, transportation, and service of beer, wine, and spirits as well

      • Menu Selection:
      • Will work with Account Executives and Event Managers on special order beer, wine and spirits and order appropriately per company guidelines
      • Lead Team to create Seasonal Cocktails for each of our catering seasons, including costing of all aspects of the cocktail.
      • Reviewing and maintaining existing wine list for inventory accuracy as well as increased opportunities
      • Purchasing:
      • Comply with all laws pertaining to the purchase and transportation of alcoholic beverages in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
      • Comply with all Compass standards for purchasing including using approved vendors
      • Work with existing vendors to insure availability of all alcoholic beverages and mixers
      • Keep Sales team up to date on out-of-stock items
      • Warehouse:
      • Oversee and Schedule Beverage Warehouse Department staff to insure timely availability of packed beverage carts for off premise events
      • Maintain accurate inventory of all alcoholic beverages and mixers on monthly basis
      • Comply with all Compass Inventory Best Practices
      • Oversee fulfillment and return of all beverage carts for off premise events
