Behavioral Home Care Aide jobs in Louisiana
Behavioral Home Care Aide provides household management activities and care for patients suffering from mental illness and developmental disabilities. Assists patient with medications and activities of daily living skills, including personal hygiene. Being a Behavioral Home Care Aide establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient and implements treatment plans under the supervision of a professional clinician. May be required to document progress in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, Behavioral Home Care Aide may require previous experience working with patients suffering with behavioral health disorders. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Behavioral Home Care Aide 's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Responsibilities-
Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly clients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents.

Remind clients to take prescribed medication.

Help with mobility
-
Plan and prepare meals
-
Assist clients with errands including outings, grocery shopping, etc.

Perform light housekeeping duties
-
Report any changes in condition/ Advocate for clients

Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Encourage activities/exercises that are essential for daily living

Provide safety supervision
Qualifications-
18 or Older
-
Ability to submit to and pass drug screen and criminal background check

Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills

Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations

Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner

Availability to work different shifts

Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment *preferred but not required

High School Diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license and car insurance and/or reliable transportation
