Barista greets customers, identifies their needs, and answers questions about menu items. Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, chai, and similar beverages. Being a Barista may prepare and serve limited food items. Records sales, operates a cash register, and follows cash handling policies as required. Additionally, Barista may assist with store set-up, clean-up, and stocking of merchandise. May require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Barista works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Being multilingual is a plus!
Responsibilities- Make and serve coffee and tea beverages
- Greet our guests while being warm and welcoming
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work station
- Comply with health and safety regulations (Food Manager's or Food Handler's a plus)
- Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance
- Contribute to a positive team environment
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
- Wednesday-Friday 7:30 am - 11:30 am with possibility of extension
- Start date: ASAP. Position through end of August with possibility of extentsion
