Job Description
The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer position to serve within the Department of Athletics. This is a full-time, exempt staff, 10-month position, within the UIndy Athletics department with to be determined sports assignments.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will serve as one of 8 full-time athletic trainers employed by the University of Indianapolis, under the direction of physicians from the Community Health Network.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will have the opportunity to serve as a preceptor and take on clinical educational responsibilities within the University’s accredited Professional Graduate Athletic Training Program.

Responsibilities - Assistant Athletic Trainer- Prepares and submits secondary insurance claims for athletic injuries
- Facilitates communication between team physicians, professional staff, coaches, student-athletes, parents, and administrators
- Coordinates student-athlete appointments with team physicians and physical therapists
- Maintains high morale among athletic training staff, athletic training students, student-athletes, coaches, and administrators
- Maintains a high level of quality documentation within an electronic medical records system
- Carries out additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred)
- Clean or acceptable driving record required
- 2-3 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer required
- Collegiate experience preferred
- Basketball and/or Swimming and Diving experience preferred
- BOC Athletic Training Certification required
- Indiana State Licensure (or eligible) required
- CPR/AED Certification required
